My pots and pans are black

Seems that one of the burners has quite a bit of white in the flame which is causing the above.

The other burner seems ok though. Odd that the one showing the most white is the one I use the least.

Any ideas on how to fix it.

Sounds like the air port is partially blocked on the burner (though it usually results in a floppy yellowish flame) it is usually situated behind the control tap . it is a venturi so as the gas passes through from the injector it sucks air in with, it mixing the air with the gas and helps to promote complete combustion.
Strip down and clean out the air port and burner holes but be careful not to enlarge the injector hole as it will be brass.

would also add that incomplete combustion like this increases CO produced massively - so either don't use until fixed (best) or increase ventilation dramatically AND fit CO detector.

Ream out the rust that's reducing the flow through the burner.

It always happens to the least used burner and needs to be done regularly on all boat stoves, especially if rain or spray can get to them.

Just a message of thanks to the contributors.

I managed to remove the burner ( the bit with the gas holes in ) and removed a mass of rust and rubbish accumulated over 11 years. I now have a very nice strong blue flame.

For information, the burners on my Plastimo Neptune could only be removed by unscrewing a horizontal mounted small threaded stud which needed a 2mm allen key. Copious amounts of WD40 was also needed.

I believe newer models have a vertical screw. As Charles mentioned, the less used burner had more rust.
