that's a shame isn't it... was it scrapped after that?

btw - I didn't mean Grand Designs specifically, just the genre... but you're right, the challenges are prob not interesting enough (although there is a prog about Eddie Stobart!)

I found a programme, nay a channel, about caravans the other day.................

Back to the deadline. We could use the result of the Scottish referendum to decide the fate of Elizmor. In or Out.

"Nice looking quay you've got here. Cost a pretty penny, I shouldn't wonder. Be a shame if something were to happen to it. Like someone releasing a sack full of moles who'd burrow under it, weaken the structure and bring the whole thing down. All them boats would just slide into the water. Specially that one. Terrible shame that would be. Terrible shame."

I hope she is ok as well.

However, this lack of contact is a generational thing. My missus has three boys of similar vintage, one has not spoken to her for three years (just can't be arsed replying to her messages), the other two only deign to answer their phones if they want something - like money.

OTOH I phone my father (aged 86) three times a week from wherever I happen to be in the world, and always have done. I have never asked him for a penny.

Crikey some now have her on her death bed .As for a television program ,get real , all the program makers need to do is stump up the survey and crane money and program over !

I'm sure they could expand on it, and i can guarantee it would be better viewing than most of the rubbish on tv. Who here would watch it if it was on.

Big hydraulic pump on Elizmor, four robot arms, and the boat could walk itself to the waters edge. Now that would be worth watching..cranes are so old school

There is nothing to expand on . it's a simple case of pay up and the boat gets launched. where is a program in that ??

Robot arms are boooooooooring. Four big space hoppers and solenoid control valves would be much more fun. Boing ... boing ... boing ... splash.

Do you think the sponsors check to see if their donated product is being promoted as promised? Would there be some sort of contract? The only thing this says to me about the sponsors so far is "Mugs".:ambivalence:

You could say that about 'changing rooms' or similar. Wife goes away, team move in,buy paint,re-decorate and leave......how boring, but people must watch it!

+1

You just don't get it do you ? never mind .

the one that gets me is where they cut open a storage bin full of rejected tat

this is TV Jim.... but not as we know it

I was wondering if this thread would have been as long or as sympathetic had it been some hare brained project hatched by an ugly old bloke who should know better

Tough one to call, 50/50 probably, more of the same, indecision reigns. How about a bit of global warming, build a bund around her fill it with rain, float the boat.
