I had a similiar situation one Burnham Week. We saw a guy fall from a yacht ahead [in a different class]. They had a kite up and we were not sure that the MOB had been missed, so we picked him up.
The guy in the water was very pleased to be rescued but his skipper was most peeved with us. Perhaps they were going to pick him up on the way back.
