I think you are right to want that extra chain in the Med. When you are docking stern to and short crewed you don't want to be switching between chain and rope. On several occasions in the Med I laid my chain a bit too far out and ran out of the 50m which was a pain - and has been observed there is more chance of some idiot chopping it when rope. When we go back to the Med I'll move 10m or 20 from my 50m secondary rode to make 60/70m on the primary.
