Last summer i was in Puerto banus. I decided I wanted to buy a boat. I started at the west end of the port at 3 million pounds and worked my way down. I finally found my ideal boat in berth number 636. (the biggest being in berth number 1) A Searay 185 bowrider. 1991 300 hours from new lovely condition almost like new. Only put in the water each summer for a month. I paid 9000 euro,s for it.
I used it nearly everyday, fitted rod holders,a fishfinder, etc. One sunny afternoon with 7 people on board I cut in a little too close behind a sunseeker doing 40 plus and filled the boat with water.(oops) my dear wife forced me to buy a searay 240 sundancer as she said it could ship more water What should I do with the bowrider now?
I can,t sell it here because at 9000 euros it is more than £200. still it is really mint and has a VHF, FISHFINDER,WARPS,FENDERS,ANCHOR,COVERS ETC. I could find a berth for it as well if any body neede one. shame i can,t advertise it here but rules are rules i suppose. Ifanybody has an sugestions i would be very grateful

Re: my badly-disguised boat advert \"story\"

Hm. You need to do better than this. How about:

"I wonder if anyone can help me? Our dearly beloved Bowrider Wassername finds itself without purpose. Oh, we've had such fun on the boat, especially me - lashing out lots of topname gps and other stuff on it, and polishing it every week. But SWMBO has sadly decreed that we should sell it on account of us having mindlessly bought a larger boat, easier although far less fun, it must be said.

I think perhaps my dearest wife decided against this boat when the entire contents of her safety deposit box comprising a load of diamonds, fiftenn krugerands plus five grand in cash got rattled out of her handbag and disappeared deep down into the "bilges" I think they are called, never to be seen again. We tried to fish them out via the galley drawers but after a lot of struggling my waterproof Rolex AND her pearl necklace went down the hole too! Ah well, fortunately I am a loss adjuster so the insurance paid up when i advised that everything was lost in the sea.

Anyway, I now have to dispose of this much-loved bowrider. I wonder if anyone can advise how I should advertise this previously cherised craft? I think an asking price of 30% less thsn what we paid last year, which means €9k or £6k is reasonable but where oh where should i advertise? Please PM me with your ideas or call me on my mobile phone number etc etc..."

See?

<font color=blue>Look you Dai Bach, there's a forum here which allows you to advertise items up to the value of 200 sovs for free. There's also a wanted forum too. Both are well worth looking at on a daily basis.

I cant imagine a worse place to sell a boat anyway Byron. Especialy a Bow rider. Every one would just slag it off and in no time at all the price would be well within the £200 limit.

When I think of all the times I've had green sea over the bonnet. I cant imagin one floating for very long. Might make a good swimming pool though. Or even a washing machine if you put the propelor inside!......../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
