Hi...downloaded the MX Mariner app yesterday, and just the east region map. Didn't seem too bad, some of the sheets seemed a bit blurry, but ok. This morning I shelled out more money on top of the money I had already spent and got the rest of the UK. Now when I load it up, large areas are blurred and are practically illegible, unless zoomed way out, and the rivers around east Anglia just turn into big square blocks of colour as soon as you zoom past just their names being readable!

It cant just be me suffering from this? - anyone else on here shelled out twenty odd quid just to be left with blurry useless maps?...Is there a fix? I am using a nexus 7 tablet, 2012 edition.

Desperately hoping you can help! There is just an email for the maker, but no response at all since emailing him this morning, and I suspect there wont be one!

Cheers guys!! :D

I've just checked with my copy (West Coast charts) and that sound like what happens when you zoom in on an area which doesn't have chart cover. There is a very basic map of the whole UK in there, but it just smudges and blurs if you look at it too closely.

Thanks for that...doesn't make sense as the east coast map seemed fine yesterday when I was testing it out, and now I have bought extra maps it is hardly working anymore....I have tried everything I can think of...it just wont go past being totally blurry at any closer resolution than just being able to read the large towns. Not impressed at all...there must be a way of fixing it, but there seems to be no support?

Seems its well worth thinking hard before putting hard earned cash into it.

Im hoping someone can come up with a solution....I noticed on some of the reviews people complaining of the same types of problems....only just found those reviews now! Typical! cheers!

Are the charts you bought visible OK? Generally I have found the support good, considering how dirt cheap it is. I emailed the developed about an issue on the West of Scotland where the blurb on on chart was displaying instead of useful information on the chart underneath (the system needs to know which matters most) and he fixed it in a day or two.

Hi again...some parts of some of the charts are ok. The east coast chart on its own seemed ok....but now that I have bought other ones to the whole lot have gone patchy in places all over!

thanks for your help...I could only find an option for un-installing an area...is there a way of checking or un-checking which one is loaded?...its pretty rubbish that you cant have them all loaded, but if theres a way around it then that's cool! - cheers!

Hi, its not the most obvious procedure. Press the three button icon and then select display instead of setting. The second row is chart region, choose which one you want and happy days!

I think its a great app for the price, this is the one 'feature' that vexed me until I figured it out. I also found the developer to be really helpful when I pointed out a tiling error in the Clyde.

At less than a tenner for the app and charts for the whole of the south coast I couldn't agree more.... not only that I've had app updates all summer so the support is good...
