Just had a somewhat drunken update from MV2, though BarryD insists it's called Firefly. So far they've got to Ramsgate from Bradwell and planning on the last stretch to Chichester tomorrow. On board is Dave Stewart (Odyssea) and Matts (Diana). Anyone boating on the south coast tomorrow, want to call them up and give them a wave or use them as target practice?

Jfm and I are planning on taking his boat (Braveheart) to meet them en route, also my initiation into power boating on the S Coast.

So if you hear radio calls for MV2, Diana, Oddyssea, Firefly, from Braveheart or Aquaholic, don't think that there's a lot of boats out, it'll just be the two of us trying to confuse the issue.

Anyone else planning on going out tomorrow?

Ah double post, so i deleted mine, then you've replied to it so I cant delete it.

If anyone's about (nice forecast) we're leaving Lym at 10.30am and will blast East and see how far we get, maybe Brighton, maybe not quite that far, and escort our boys in, and praps sell em some petrol etc. If anyone else is out, keep Ch16 on, PaulineB if we get to Brighton we'll call Tommy and harass you. I'll try to take some digi pics of MV2's homecoming and post next week.

So if you're out and about, tea and cream cakes on me 4pm Chichester - we could do with as many first-aid trained people as poss :-)

Ok, I've deleted my reply to your deleted message so now you can delete the heading to your deleted post.

Sounds a bit like the Pink Panther theme to me.
Delete, delete. Delete, delete, delete, delete, deleete........

Re: Our Thoughts Go With Them!

Pity we all cant do it in person, but the 300 miles to Plymouth.
Then the 100000000 Knots up the south coast to get there is all a bit too much for me in the winter. Can we have an action replay in the summer please.

Re: Our Thoughts Go With Them!

I youre 300 miles away from Plym, where are you?, I have to travel 210 to Lymington, getting really fed up after 5 years on Southcoast.

A nice gesture Colin but we had to scrub at Eastborne (45Nms short) due to it being nearer a F4/5 and some really tall waves into tide and wind etc.. basically we wer'nt going anywhere. Matt demonstrated some great skill in surfing the boat and then testing the foredeck windows to ensure that they don't leak.

I (or the others) will post somethign longer but I'm just back and will get shot if caught on the computer!

Suffice to say - it was fun, I've got a lot of confidence in the boat, nothing major fell off despite some serious back breaking slams - "Dats a hole" shouts Dave as we all fly out of the cockpit! Burnt a lot of go-juice and drunk a lot of fluids...

MV2 NO Firefly is safe in Eastborne and hopefully if I can convince Mr Wignall (as it's his part of the world) I will complete the journey next week - weather and SWMBO permitting.

Barry D.
