MV Aurora

Well spotted Bob! According to the news she's been full ahead against her warps all afternoon to check that it works.

Looks like she's off RIOW again - we should know before bedtime!

Now what's Black Prince up to? Destination also Funchal, off the forts and steering 295???? Is she shaping to take Aurora out of the competition? Or maybe a cruise in company!

Watch this space.

Geoff

Out for tests again. If these don't work, everyone is off ship, and round world cruise is off. Will cost them a fortune! She's supposed to be in Rio dJ at the moment!

But the site says she's bound for madeira at 17.8 knots heading 241deg.
it's going to be a long test trip but you could as always be right !!
Cheers Bob E

I'm just going by reports that tugs were alongside to take her out for tests this pm, and if the test failed, she was back home, and cruise off while they did some serious sorting. The hope was that the tests would be permanent, and round the world cruise would be on, they've lost a number of passengers already, and it would be a shame if they lost anymore. I've seen Aurora leaving at night all lit up, from mid Solent, wonderful, so not knocking

Is my impression correct that she wanted to be invisible during her recent trials in the Solent? She was certainly out around the Island, returning to Southampton at 0001 on 18th, but I could not find her on the AIS. Did she turn it off?

The Today programme reported this morning that Paul Daniels had been taken aboard. There was no comment on whether he'd come board to magic away the electrical problems, or to make the £42,000 fare worthwhile - both of which seem equally implausible to me...

I think she may of snuck off on her cruise at long last. I dont think she would be allowed to turn off her AIS with passengers aboard her. Last time I looked she was making 16 knots and was heading for Madeira.

And she is coming back again!!!

BBC news

And she is heading back to port! Oh dear /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Now, if she had been built in a British yard and suffered these problems there would be all manner of denegrating comments on British workmanship and all the rest. But she wasn't, more's the pity, so now we have German engineering 'triumph' instead. Impressive, isn't it?

And then relaunch her on a friday and set her off on her new maiden voyage on a friday and serve roast pork or rabbit stew for dinner and ....

Lunchtime news Tied up in Southampton passengers getting refunds.I have offered P AND O an old Stuart Turner Ive got in my shed...

Can anybody tell me (assume I'm a bear with little intelligence...) exactly what was broke???

I heard it was a 'lecky motor. Surely a motor on a 13amp. plug can't drive a boat that big, anyway isn't she driven by gallons of fuel oil / MGO / JetA1. So where are the batteries???

Confused,
Sussex.

Please enlighten
