A quick heads up for those who didn't get waterproofs for xmas but still want some.
Musto at Bicester Village Outlet Mall are doing an additional 20% off in store prices during the sale.
This means Musto HPX gear is £220 for jackets and £152 for trousers.

Having just come back from there you'll be pleased to know I left you some!

You mean they actually had some???

Dragged the dear lady wife all the way down there last spring looking for foulies that would fit her and finally found about half a dozen jackets and a couple of trousers shoved behind a load of other non boating stuff in the far back left corner of the shop

Wasn't impressed at all and the staff were not terribly interested either

I got half price Musto trousers in a conventional chandlery, much to my surprise.

I assumed they had some minor defect. When I asked I was told that they were 100% but 'last year's colours'.

I swallowed my sense of fashion and grabbed them.

I live not too far from Bicester... and have never managed to buy anything useful in there recently.... it full of horsey stuff...... that all xxxxxxL or extra small....

saying that I bought a fleece from musto in ashford outlet last week

Musto Bicester did not have one of the size leggings I was after so they rang the Ashford outlet. There they did have the size I was after so I paid at Bicester and it's being posted to me from Ashford at no additional cost. The sales person was very helpful indeed.

Thanks for the tip ...... 160 miles later I am the proud owner of HPX trousers @ £152.
Had the choice of gold (to match my jacket) or black (more practical) ..... opted for black.

Not sure my 10 year old would thank you for a day in the car!

My son went to boarding school about 2 miles from Bicester Village and the Musto shop was probably the biggest waste of tim win the village. In the four years he was there, they never had anything boaty, all the goods were part of the "Outdoor range".

Boreades
I'm impressed that you've let them go to the Swindon Outlet Centre

......ALONE!

Is that in response for you getting to go to Chandlers and Boatshows on your own?

:)

John

We bought our foulies in the Helly Hansen shop in Bicseter Village, think they where 20 quid a pair which seemed like good value...

Although its rare you see decent sailing gear there...

My last oilskin purchases came from http://wetsuitoutlet.co.uk/ -as always, best savings are in the less popular sizes. I've also had success from John Lewis online, who for some reason had some HH salopettes in stock. On sale at half price - bargin! Bit of work on Google shopping came up with that one.

Not any more HH was chucked out of Bicester Village for not being up market enough a year or so ago. Pity they did have good bargains.

HH are gone! First mate and I took a trip to Bicester but, as others have said, XXXXXL or tiny only in stock. As HH had gone by then I went on "tinternet" and having heard good things about Guy Cotten took a punt. Last years top of the range for sensible money, no choice of colour in my size but red was OK, really pleased with the jacket. I wore it in anger for the first time to and from Henry's Cowes meet. Very cold on the way, wet on the way home, jacket was fine. Long term testing this year-if the weather is any good!

Aaarhh Right. That explains why we budgeted for hour or so looking around the outlet village. After I bought my HPX trousers we were back in the car 20 minutes later because all the other shops where too posh / expensive for us. I guess Gloucester / Swindon / Bridgend outlet trash are not welcome at Bicester!
