Music Radio

Hi Dennis, I fitted the version with the 4" white speakers to my boat a few weeks ago. For the money I'm very happy with it. The most basic Fusion package with speakers was a fair bit more than double the price. It's pretty basic but does everything ok, FM/AM, bluetooth, auxiliary, USB. You need to press the buttons quite firmly and the AM tuner goes in increments of 10 so you can't tune to exactly 693 or 909 however i seem to be able to pick up radio 5 at 690 MW ok. Sound quality sounds reasonable to me but I'm no expert!

Don't forget you'll need an aerial.

Thanks for that reply. As it is in an open rib I am not expecting the sound quality to be brilliant but I wanted something small and reasonably priced so hopefully this will fit the bill

I put in a fusion with 6 inch speakers in a Williams.

Great up to 5 kotts once faster you could here very little. You will need bigger speakers !

It will only be used at low speeds as with a 2 stroke outboard and the wind noise I will never hear it once on the plane. Not sure bigger speakers will make much difference to this situation

Does it not have a USA/EU tuning step setting? Its 10Khz in the USA and 9Khz in the EU (Medium wave freqs). I note that the Ebay advert stated USA/EU tuning but whether that is a real setting or just that it has a wideband front end so generally picks up everything is unclear.

I see a similar radio states....

Radio Mode
USA/Europe (EURO) Tuning Mode Selection
To change from USA to European tuning mode, perform the following steps:
1. Press and hold the ••• button (7) for 2 seconds to access the system menu.
2. Press the ••• button repeatedly to move through the menu options (BASS > TREBLE > BALANCE > FADER > AS/PS >
USA/EURO). The unit will display USA (if set to USA frequency tuning mode) or EURO (if set to European frequency
mode).
3. With the display showing the current tuning mode, press the or button (9, 3) to change between USA/EURO.
4. Press the MARINE AUDIO power button (1) to confirm your selection.

Brilliant thanks for that I'll take a look when I'm back. I had no idea about us/euro differences or settings.

Well the little radio device arrived yesterday and I fitted it today. I was pleased to find that the radio unit itself was a drop in to where I removed the spedo wh9ich did not work. Sound is quite good from the little speakers and for £60 all in I am quite pleased. Little aeiel that goes in the console should come tomorrow. I like the little USB dongle which will charge my phone or play mp3's from a flash drive. I found a little place for this to exit in a convient location
