One of this winters jobs is to install an nice CD/MP3/Radio on Neraida..
However I am having my doubts now due to my beloveds love of Greek pop music! She has a collection of some 500+ grekko mp3's.

As "Captains" do you have to surrender your musical tastes to your better halfs?

Develop an irresistible urge to throw all the melamine into the sea every time you hear Greek Music. Expensive but it might work.

Make sure you don't have outdoor speakers.

She can listen to her music in the saloon, you close the door and enjoy your sailing in peace !

When in the marina, claim it drains too much power and tell her she shouldn't use it.

CD and DDS3 - you are doomed. No way of sneaking any tech kit past this one.....

You could always fit a tape / radio and hide the 6CD autochanger from her. Failing that how about her own personal CD player. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Not wrong there - we use an IPod through the boats stereo and it is phenomenal - 4400 songs on the boat and no clutter/mess

Yep - and with an IR controller - even better. You can now even suck pictures off a digital camera onto ther iPod, meaning you dont need lots of CF cards (or whatever) when on hols.

One of the better ideas in Nick Hornby's "High Fidelity" is to check out the compatability of your music collections before getting serious. As an adoptive Geordie she MUST have some decent musical taste hidden somewhere!

Re: Bad News

The majority of our music taste is the same (except for the B52's) but she only ever listens to the stuff I like when I'm at work or elsewhere.

Buy her her own system for Xmas - and don't forget to include a nice set of Sennheiser cans with it!
