Where was the Island harbour night watch man??
non -existant, office closes at 9pm, phones go to voicemail.

Gossip on the docks now says this group brought their own DJ to add to live music in the bar which ended as far as we heard about 1115 after which said DJ started up on board one of the boats. there were multiple boats involved some just RIBS or similaropen day boats and some 60 people in all attended. It suggests they had not come from afar, just maybe across from the mainland somewhere.

Something similar occurred this time last year but no where near as bad. We are live aboards (and love it here) and whilst we do so with full permission do not like to rock the boat unduly with constant complaints and we understand there may be sound commercial reasons to accept bookings like this mob, times post covid are hard.

Time to keep some foam ear plugs on board then!

How distressing and annoying for you. When we had a yacht around 15 years ago we found some marinas were pretty loud at night, the noise Usually settled down at around 1am. Then a few hours later the fishermen would turn up and wake everyone up. Anchorage would be slightly better, but usually someone running a noisy Genny half the night. Not sure what the answer is.

The fisherman has a living to earn and bet he just loves being up at 4.00am on a winters morning.

This thing goes out most evenings during the summer down the Norfolk Broads, often complete with DJ and speakers facing outwards..
You can hear it when it starts up in Wroxham... 2 1/4 miles away as the music ? flys. Often comes back very late... After we've finished our regatta evening function and gone to bed.

short term gain, but potentially has now put off loads of others wondering if they will have same if they visit.

It is very much a lovely place to visit and has on site facilities for DIY BBQs as well as a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating even with heaters for late season, also a kids play area . Large rallies are welomed but the mob in this one left common decency/courtesy somewhere else. Perhaps they were refused by others and were unable to get into the 'Folly' or Parkhurst even.

We've been a couple of times and its always been very quiet. The only downside was getting something to eat last year at the end of covid restrictions, when the Breeze was fully booked.

Just to add insult to injury we were told justnow thata visitor near us that night complained about US making the noise - maybe because, unsurprisingly, our cabin lights were on. Apparently under discussion right now with marina management as to what can be done to prevent a recurrence. Next time I WILL call the police without hesitation. :poop:, war is declared.
