Mugs - your experiences

Indoors, we've got 2 sets of mugs and the larger one's make a much better cuppa than the smaller ones which always turn out a bit weak no matter how long the t-bag is left in.
I suspect it's because the smaller ones are thicker and cool the water that much quicker.
Your thoughts...........

I like those stainless steel models with the double wall and the plastic cover with a couple holes.

They really do keep your tea hot for a very considerable time (moreso here in the Caribbean) and also hold a decent sized amount.

There is a swift learning curve in regard to how long they can keep your tea hot.
I nearly burnt my mouth and everything in it (tongue etc) when I first started using one. :-(

I've got a nice bone china mug by Dunoon, with a nice poem, star to steer her by, puffins, loverly ketch printed around it. Oh! it makes a loverly cupper!!!!!!!

Best mug I ever had held a pint. A whole pint of tea or coffee! I had to put four sugars in it.

The drink stayed hot for longer too because of the volume/area ratio thing that was going on.

Don't use it any more 'cos I only ever drink water or apples now.

Good point
One thing I noticed aboard Snowleopard en route to Cherbourg
was how quickly the tea cooled. Clearly if I am invited again (!)
the yacht's present will have to be the stainless mugs described.

Good news Ken, I got out twice today including going for a sail. Incidently, tea was served in a plastic mug on the boat and a very grubby mug at my other destination.
