Mucky Attacked By Raggie Whilst Defencless

Just a thort, do folk recon I should tell my insurance straight away, or wait a bit.

you could tell them that you have been hit by another boat, they admitted liability and intend to pay for the damage without involving their insurance also inform the perpetrator you are doing this just in case costs escalate.

I see no harm in doing this and from the start you have been overt, furthermore, there is no reason for you to accept anything less than a full inspection and total long term repair

If it were me, I would notify my insurers of the incident but stress to them that you are persuing a claim directly off the other party at present and you are informing them for information purposes only at this stage. It will then be easier to revert to claiming off your own policy should it all go pear shaped.

Have you got the other party's full details and his insurers details? Also an admission of liability would be good together with details of anyone who witnessed the incident.

PM me Haydn if you need any help with the claim.

It was a bit of a daft question really Phil. I'll tell Saga tomorrow. By the way, they are brilliant.

Yep I've got his phone no and mobile, Insurance Co. He admits guilt. Not much option really. The blokes genuinly upset about it really.

Loads of witnesses, I can get their details if need be. Hardly think I need them, as we were parked.

After 40+ years in business, I hardly think I need much help, but thanks anyway, two minds are always better than one.

Tell them straightaway and put the matter completely in their hands. Anything you or the other guy say to each other directly potentially prejudices the claim. All you need to do is make sure that any surveyor who is appointed by the insurance co is fully aware of all damage that was caused. Don't forget to keep a note of any other losses you incurred. With any luck this could turn out well for you. That dinghy looks like it was badly damaged in the accident, for example
