A benzalkonium chloride based mould killer such as diluted Patio Magic, Polycell 3 in 1 or Wet and Forget will kill the mould but getting rid of any stain that is left may need an oxi action bleach such as Vanish.

Avoid chlorine based mould killers and bleaches unless you are certain they will not damage the surface.

Benzalkonium chloride need not be rinsed off. What is left will remain active and prevent further mould occurring.

Garden sprayer and domestic bleach is widely used in Azores on house walls etc. for green algae and mould. Hose off after a couple of hours or more. Probably not a good idea on fabrics or ropes though.

I actually have Patio Magic but have never used it on a (blue) canvas wheelhouse canopy. Will it damage like bleach would?

It wont damage anything like a chlorine based bleach will but I would try it in a corner before treating the whole of a blue canopy. Perhaps this is a time you would rinse it off again after a while.
I dilute Patio Magic 1 part plus 9 parts water for general use indoors anywhere that condensation leads to mould or mildew.

No it won't damage the canvas, just make sure it is diluted with water. I have used it on my blue canvas for many years, not a problem and works. But, don't get it on the canvas windows, it will overtime damage them. So I would advise against using a sprayer, I simply use a paint brush.

Thanks for that. I'll try it somewhere obscure!
Peoria, IL?

I think you mean somewhere unobtrusive.

The advise from VicS is spot on. The only use for a bomb can be for residual odor, but that should fade in time if the boat is clean and dry.

Bombs are mostly used in the remediation business (floods) and for selling nasty used cars, and are time release ClO2. You can get a very similar affect (and it is often done this way) by mixing a small (few ounces) amount of ammonia and bleach in a large bucket and then getting t he hell out of the cabin (the resulting chloramine gas is quite toxic and the reaction is rapid). Clear the air for an hour before even thinking of going back in the cabin in all bomb uses. They are all toxic (not cancer-long-term toxic, more like hydrogen sulfide kill-you-right-now toxic).

Google bombs before trying them. They require caution.
