Re: the recent complaints about powerboaters, I feel we sailboaters are being a bit hard on them. We should remember that powerboaters only have an I.Q. somewhere between that of plankton and the sea cucumber.

Oh dear.

I do hope that if you are ever in any trouble at sea the RNLI don't take it to heart and refuse to turn out because they only have "powerboats" left on the slipway.

Dont know about the IQ of powerboaters or raggies for that matter. Just feel sorry for your raggy mates, if your around.

No one can force me to come here-----------

Surely this is a more appropriate posting for Scuttlebutt than R to R?

There are at least two sides to any argument.

Alan, I hope you're having a laugh, but either way I'm locking this thread as we've been this way before now for weeks. There is an obvious motorboats/yachts debate to be had...and that one should now be one that looks for better understanding, not a fresh trawl through the dictionary for the latest in words to use as insults.

I enjoy sailing and motorboating and believe there's room for both. Indeed the health of one side will help the other, either way. I've met a few idiots who own boats of either kind, and very few that qualify for your supposition.

Sorry if I am taking you too seriously but there you are...
