My mag arrived in the post today - great - and congratulations to all for the 100 year anniversary - that's some achievement!! Does that mean that MBY will be hosting a massive p**s up at this year's London Boat Show? Also could make some smart comments about some of the regular forumites buying thir first boats through the early issues, or having letters published in the first issue, but since I don't really know anyone I won't!!

There has been talk of a gigantic p**s-up to celebrate our Centenary, but it's a case of trying to prise open the Publisher's wallet to pay for it. It won't be at the London Show because we need time to organise these things. Keep an eye on the Centenary Update column in MBY's news pages for any developments.

And thanks for the congratulations....appreciated.

Ahh! You mean Byron of course. In fact he's been around much longer. At one point he was known as 'Noah' and built and skippered some arc thingie

Dang

Don't mention the centenary section of mby.com...I haven't built it yet!

Twill surface among the mists of the last days of 2003...otherwise they tell me I'm not allowed to play on the forums any more as punishment. Now, wait a minute...

Whilst I was greatly touched by your humble and misty-eyed recognition that you were among a small (12) elite number of boating dignitaries who have served as editors over the last 100 years, it must also have come to your notice that for 10 of them served for an average of about 3 years apiece.

Being a great believer in fate and the pareto principle , i just wondered as to what you were planning as your next job in a couple of years time?

....only joking ( borrowing a couple of hundred H1-patented smileys)
