Motor boat choice

Later Broom models have a lowered side profile at the point where the siderail gate is located, that makes boarding from a side pontoon particularly easy.

I take your point but the photo isn’t a pontoon and I can say that my wife struggles with the 39KL and the 42CL from a standard pontoon height. They are both better than our 41 though, which required a fender step and a knotted rope hanging from the rail on the saloon roof to climb aboard and then a supportive shove from me was sometimes required 😁
 
I’d rather have a suitable flat tread insert into my hull for safe entry than that fancy curve
We had a Broom 42cl with that recessed step. Until I just checked back at some photos I hadn’t realised the step wasn’t exactly level. We had the boat for 10 years on the Thames and the south coast. Never had an issue boarding including guests using it.
