Moving the boat from Bray Marina down to Penton Hook Marina. Nice warm day, a bit cloudy. One thing missing? Lock keepers. Not a single one spotted from Boveney down to Bell Weir. All locks on self-service. Is this the shape of things to come?

Until 31st March "Expect Self Service" is the norm. From 1st April remains to be seen but "Standard Service" should prevail until 30th September with later finish during peak.

How long you staying at PH ?

Very quiet out and about. Nigel at Marsh was off-duty but waved and said hello to us.

Nice little shakedown run to check all is well after servicing, now time to go to sea!

There were the remains of a couple of dinghies wrapped around Marsh Lock pilings and the remains of an inflatable one under the Thames path walkway.

This one was washed out of its mooring (ropes go from cleats down under boat to piling so had been lifted over the pilings

Lock keeper on duty at Boveney when we headed upstream at 15:00. Told us to watch out for a submerged tree making its way downstream from bray, apparently looks like twigs on surface but approx 30ft of trunk below!
