Company claiming not a warranty issue as they are of the opinion that fishing line or rope has got caught on the leg, damaging the oil seals. At last lift out there was no apparrent evidence of this. They are replacing the seals for free and the engineer is doing the work without charge but I'm going to have to pay for another lift out. Not sure if I can challange the companies position or not. Being lifted out next Tuesday so can get sailing again soon which is all I want. Any thoughts from the forum? Thanks.

Assume you are talking about a saildrive leg. If so, then they are probably right. Seals can get damaged if line, particularly mono fishing line, gets wound in. Problem is it usually melts and breaks up leaving little evidence thast it has been there.

If you have a Volvo or Yanmar you can fit a rope cutter which will deal with it before it gets to the seals.
