On my Sealine S360 the starboard morse control needs lots of wriggles in neutral before it will start. We have had a look for the micro switch but can't see one or is it somewhere else .Can anyone help?

might be on the gear box, rather than in the controls, would be for Borg Warner boxes.

have you taken the morse controls off the dashboard ? (you shouldn't need to disconnect control cables usually enough slack to enable access)
There are microswitches built into the unit. I had similar problem and the various screws etc had come loose making operation unreliable. nipped them up all was well

Unfortunately there are no wires going to the control so I will have to look at the gearbox.

They're on the top of the gearboxes (HS63's), and they're notorious for this. You can pull the switches and swap them over and the problem will stay on the starboard side, I'm betting. I don't know for sure, but I suspect there's a can inside the gearbox that actuates the switch, and the problem lies with the cam, not the switch.

The switches are about £25 - £35 each depending where bought from and come with an oring, as easy to change as a spark plug.

Before you tamper with the shift cable or even changing the neutral safety switch join the two wires together by unscrewing two terminals and putting both terminals to the same screw , make sure you are in neutral and see if it starts.

It could be the starter relay, cost less than £5 and as easy to change as a fuse.

If it is a faulty neutral switch I have a Brand new one surplus to requirements, £20 including P&P.

( I thought my neutral switch had an intermittent fault , bought two new ones to keep a spare and it turned out to be the relay).

It could also be too much play in a worn shift cable.
