Welcome,

I too relocated to Wales from SW Scotland, Stranraer to Cardigan some 19 odd years ago.

New Quay has a great club and is a lovely harbour, unfortunately it's a wee bit open to the NW. next up the coast is Aberaeron harbour is lovely and right in the town again a great club, I'm not sure about availability of moorings at these but I could get you contact details if you want them.

After that there is nothing until Aberystwyth which has a Marina and probably prices to suit.

How about bringing it to Cardigan? Nice club right at the mouth of the River Teifi £65 membership, tidal moorings on sand.

Hi welcome to the Forum- I have today received my annual berth price for 2007/8 LOA 7.3m lift keel for Aberystwyth marina , just short of 2000 pounds /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Aberearon is nice. Aberystwyth is not that expensive.
Never been into Cardigan but have poached quite often on the Teifi .
Well it was 30 years ago!
Lovely part of the World. Oops! Sorry! Don't tell too many Peeps.
Oh well the odd Jock is ok.
Prevailing WNW wind does muck it up a bit but it's worth it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'd second Cardigan. Got some pics here of the approach and the corner to the club at low tide.

They are currently dredging the estuary at Cardigan and installing a pontoon, mainly for the fishing fleet but I'm sure they won't mind sailing boats loading & unloading

Brendan You've wetted My appetite.
That looks really nice.
Passed by some Years ago but was a bit new in those days and nervous to go in.
Carried on to Aber, which I knew cos I,d been before.
Must be some Bass and Sea Trout around there. "Where's Me net"? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Scary when the wind is howling down the estuary though, I would not like to leave my boat there if I was stuck in Jockland.

Have you considered Barmouth, very nice place to stay even if you can't get out for the day sailing. Though the current in the harbour needs to be respected. Also Porthmadog is a great location, but can be a pain in that the harbour gives no clues at all about the weather outside.
