Morgana\'s Blog - Sunday
Extarct from Morgana's Blog "Once out at sea, we found 18kts of wind, bang on the nose out of Harwich, so motored into the choppy swell"
and Flipper's view......and don't I know it! Left RHYC at about 1000 to return to B'sea - early for the tide I know but family commitments etc...
Motored past Pin Mill and then sailed from just upstream of the docks (Butterman's Bay? from memory) hard on the wind with 1 slab and a bit of genny rolled away. Off Landguard 2nd slab and a bit more genny rolled away and still doing 6 knots! And I bet no one took a picture.
Off N Eagle about 1645 a couple of hours after LW neaps and calculated there would be at least a metre under my keel to cross Colne Bar - well I didn't want to put in another tack as my arms were nearly falling off!
Back on the berth at 1730. Now next time I can look for the leak above the saloon bookshelf - every time I tacked onto port a mugfull of water washed across the table just missing the new upholstery!
I don't think I have had a 'passage' this season without at least one slab in the main, am I going soft? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
PS - Bernie the 'shower cap' cover for the top of the quarter berth is just the ticket!
PPS When can I buy that bigger boat? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
