Hello everyone, I am brand new on the forum which I find very interesting, animated by real pationnés.
I am looking to identify a sailboat manufactured by Morgan Giles shipyards in Warsah.
I acquired a sailboat in November 2019. It is based on the French shores of Lake Geneva in the port of Évian les Bains. It is a magnificent Half-toner from 1968 built in plywood on a wooden frame. It is a chine hull. It has the serial number 336757.
I did a lot of research without being able to formally identify the type of sailboat.

i have a school English level, and I understand English if it is not too complicated, and I can read it, but I have to help myself with a translator, in particular, for technical sentences.

I recently discovered a plan of a prototype sailboat designed by Frédéric Robert Parker and built at the Morgan Giles LTD shipyard in warsash. This plan was published in the annual magazine Yatch Word of 1970. They were plans of the prototype of a sailboat belonging to Frédéric Parker, the sailboat was called "Mistri". After checking all the measures of the plan and the equipment, they perfectly match the Mistri sailboat.

Continuing my research, in particular with the Morgan Giles archives of Teignmouth (a big thank you to Bob Kethro), I learned that my sailboat would probably come from the prototypes created by Frédéric parker, succeeding the Norsue and preceding the javelin 30 (which was then produced in several copies under the Javelin 30 series).
The information gleaned assumed that my sailboat was presented at the London boat show in January 1969. I could not confirm this.

In love with my sailboat, I would like to be able to identify it formally and go back in its history.
1 / Is it Mister Mister Parker? 2 / How many copies have there been?
3 / Is this sailboat produced in small series?

I hope I have caught your attention and from France you are the only people who can help me. I know I can count on your passion, your knowledge and contacts.

Looking forward to reading you.

From my yachting world annual of 1970 the Mistri was designed by F Parker and built by Morgan Giles for F Parker sailmaker Williams.......dimensions. Loa. 30.5 feet. lwl. 22ft. Beam 9 feet draft 5.25feet displacement 3.25 tons. Ballast.1.3 tons.....designed for low cost and possible amateurs construction. Your pictures coincide with the pictures I have.

Thank you very much wansworth for this information. It remains for me to determine if there was really only one copy of this prototype. It probably is. I will do more research to confirm this.
Could a member of the passionate regatta forum get information to determine if the sailboat "Mistri" participated in regattas in the years 1968-1975. And possibly know the names of the skippers and the rankings.
Thank you so much.

Welcome PACHA. Yachting World has a good pedigree in home-builds in plywood. Looking at Mistri, she is similar to the Yachting World Keelboat, designed by Jack Holt (of Mirror Dinghy fame) in 1959. The class subsequently became the Yachting World Diamond and became much more popular in Australia than it was in the UK. My own vessel will celebrate her sixtieth birthday in 2022, and she's still going strong, although now epoxied for strength. I'm afraid I can't help with Mistri's history in the 60's and 70's.
