More thrust on Honda 2.3 ?

Is there a high thrust prop available ?

I have found no mention in the brochure, the specs or the owners manual of any alternative props.

Why do you want a different prop? ... What sort of boat are you pushing? .. What are the problems a with the standard 7¼" x 4¾" prop?

4¾" is pretty small pitch anyway and I'd think designed to push a heavy dinghy relatively slowly.

Maybe you just need a more powerful engine ... for which a high thrust prop may be available if needed

sounds like a perfect engine

Exactly, did 2.5 knots into flat 2 knot tide & 16 knots of wind.

1T trimaran.

Only had to go 1/3 mile to mooring, so no prob.

fed up with water pumps / gears.

Tnx for checking out the props Vics.

it sounds perfect for your lightweight boat

love it to bits

sips petrol

bit noisy - but if you can put the tiller pilot on and move away from it.... no probs

With more wind or a stronger tide you would have struggled.

Little outboards are OK on little boats or on bigger boats if you don't need to motor against a strong wind or a foul tide. Then you need a bigger engine!

The engine is matched to the prop i doubt it will have extra power to power a high thrust prop...especially such a small engine!
Need a Bigger outboard!
as been said you may be thankful of the extra power one day!

full blatt

Miserable, noisy little contraption. They should have all been drowned at birth. The true "Black Sheep" of the Honda flock.
Chas

it is noisy at full blatt I agree

but at half revs it is fairly quiet

I like the idea that there is no salt water being sucked around the inside of the engine

and it is astonishingly cheap on fuel

But then doesn't it NEED "Full Blatt" to get anywhere?

My Mariner 3.3 2T is eight years old now and has only had 2 gallons of 100:1 through it in that time. I would guess that most people's diesels and greased stern glands have put far more pollution into the environment or their owners suntan oil has done more damage than my (hushed) little beauty in that time .
