No need to be even sentimental about it all, just imagine even one hundred dead seal pups washed ashore around your favourite anchorage, or tangled in your prop, the smell would be lovely, hmmm, somehow I think they're better off being looked after as few people buy fur these days

They almost have the towels the right colour for 'port' and 'starboard', I am assuming that's what they'll be called!

I reckon there are worse things to spend £20 on.

I risk becoming a bit unpopular here, but I can't be bothered with seal pups. Nature kills animals by the million every year yet some people feel they have to spend money tending to a couple of victims of a recent well publicised natural event.

My sympathy goes to the people who have been hurt, both physical injuries and storm damage to their homes. It seems totaly wrong to give money to a charity to spend on animals in these circumstances.

Meat including 2,000 pheasants and 260 partridges has been stolen from two lorry trailers in Lincolnshire.
A quarter of a tank of diesel and 400 kilos of venison were also stolen from the trailers, parked at the premises of a company on West Marsh Road in Spalding.
Police said the items stolen were worth about £6,500.
The theft happened between 18:00 GMT on Tuesday and 06:40 GMT the following morning.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact police

Note you get a six monthly newsletter - how long are they going to keep them for? Surely they want to return them to the Sea?

No need to worry on that score… They will have been eaten before anyone launches again in the spring..
Nature is very good at that.. when it kills one animal .. another one gets a good meal

Indeed, however the process does take time. I remember having my boat on a mooring a few years back and finding a lamb that had fallen in to the water, caught up between boat and pontoon. That process was underway, it was being eaten, the stench was overpowering :blue:

Dave,

You are falling into the nature is cute and cuddly trap.... It has large eyes to see its dinner in murky water. You associate large eyes with human babies which do have disproportionately large eyes and so think any animal with large eyes is cute like a human baby...
