Only gone quiet cos I was busy painting my boat with a trick new self- polishing antifouling so I can put it in the water over Easter.

Not applying for a new job just yet but still interested to hear what you're all saying. I think you're right that there is room to have more fun from time to time and will try to surprise and hopefully entertain a few of you over the coming months.

I see that MBM did an article on converting a LandRover into a boat. I was laughing so much in the WH Smith magazine lending library I actually bought a copy. (A nice clean one. Not a pre-read one, I'll have you know)

I would have laughed even more if the writer hadn't stripped every possibilty of humour out of the piece. That alone takes some doing for an article about a seagoing LandRover. So full marks there.

Still. It's an improvement.

You may want to sit down Hugo, but I only ever bought MBY once............and it wasn't March's issue.

If you've only ever bought one issue that would explain a lot. In the last couple of years at MBY we have taken part in the Deauville (Gumball) Rally, broken the world record for crossing the channel in an amphibious vehicle, driven a Class 1 catamaran at over 100mph, raced an Aston Martin Vanquish and a Sunseeker Predator from Poole to Dartmouth, driven round The World in a Pershing 56, lapped the Isle of Wight flat out in a 60 knot RIB vs Sportsboat feature, grappled with the Bitches of Ramsey Island, joined in the UK's craziest Poker Run and done a back to back test of four 62ft sportscruisers to name but a few. You don't know what you've been missing!

So why have I been missing out on this gore fest of boating excess? Why do your correspondents on this very forum decry your seemingly well developed organ?
