Had a look at the new marina in Areciffe today. Has been officially open since October.

Looks about half full, still building both pontoons and ashore. Hard standing and travel hoist operational.

It's a bit high end with designer shops, restaurants and errr, Burger King........

Looks ok, 40 percent discounts for long stay, free wifi and whilst still building, free water and electricity.

Close to centre of town and lots of chandlers nearby. On site basic supermarket.

I quite liked it but am probably spoilt by the two years we lived in Puerto Calero. Would be a good pit stop though if you needed to fix broken bits.

We've been in Marina Lanzarote, Arrecife now for a few months since we arrived from La Linea. Paying around 19 euro a night after discount (nominally 12m). Arrecife is one of the most Spanish towns on the island and very friendly. A few chandlers mostly developed from previous fishing/hardware shops. 5-10 minute walk into town with some nice, often tourist free restaurants. Does get busier when the cruise liners come in though. We thought we would move on after a few weeks but have grown very fond of the town and will stay here until we leave for the Caribbean in January. It was pretty full when Jimmy Cornell's Atlantic Odyssey was gathering here but most boats have left for their trans atlantic crossings now so only about half full, maybe less.

Staff are excellent and for a new marina almost everything works well. Just a shame the showers are still not hot. Good spot for jumping off for a chill out in La Graciosa. Well protected, though lack of space between the pontoons leaves plenty of opportunities for berthing voyeurism. No regrets about coming here at all. Happy to answer any other questions you might have.

Interesting points, we are in Rubicon at the moment and moving up the coast from tomorrow with the aim of getting to Graciosa eventually. SWMBO not enamoured by the cold shower comment so we may just anchor at Arrecife instead where its free especially as our boat does not manoeuvre well in tight spaces. Rubicon is currently half empty the showers are hot and the price is similar.

Tazacorte marina on the west coast of La Palma has excellent facilities and shelter. We had a pleasant few days there last month. 20 euros a night for 11.3x3.75 metres. If you don't want their water and shore power let them know or you will be charged for it. The buses are excellent for getting around or the marina will arrange a hire car - 3 days minimum though.
