Heads up to anyone with boats moored in the Hullbridge / Brandy Hole area of the Crouch - at least 6 boats have been broken into in the last few days, with resultant damage, theft of items and mess

You might want to consider checking your boat and removing valuable items...

Glide has been done. Got down there today and assessed the damage, radio & a spare life jacket taken. No vandalism, so that's something I suppose.

Thats a bugger Phil. I've just bought a DSC radio and will be selling my Icom (non-DSC) VHF for a modest fee if you are interested. You can't take everything off the boat though. How did they get in without damage?

Cut the padlock, current theory is that they're using a battery angle grinder.
Thanks for the heads up about the radio, I'll let you know once I've spoken to the insurance company.

very sorry o hear your news, imo its no point making the hatches too secure as it only makes more serious damage likely. i rely on among other devices an alarm system as well as the normal locks.
