My memory of The Trap was that it was a gravel bank that boats got trapped on when they cut in too close trying to avoid the ebb in the North Channel. When the tide turned it became difficult to get off and there were boats broken up in bad conditions. Think I’ve got an old article about it somewhere. The hole was just outside The Trap…
