Moorings on the way to the Med

I am taking my 40ft plus power boat to the Med via the french canals and will need to leave it for 4 weeks somewhere in the Lyon/Rhone area. any suggestions on a good/secure/cheap (if all possible?) mooring?

I don't think its wise to moor around Lyon (bandit country) but a friend of mine has moored his sealine in St Jean de Losne were I understand there is a good marina. I'm off skiing next week and plan to have a look at this marina with a view of stopping over there myself so if you want to know what its like I'll be happy to come back to you on my return (17th)
