.....folk are doing this as a matter of course..... A bit daunting since we have not been beyond Lezardrieux. Lets hope for good weather.

Don't be daunted. Enjoy it to the full....

Your ordinary prudence with weather and tides is quite sufficient. There are plenty of attractive places to 'turn left and stop' all along the way, and there's no fun in 'pressonitis'.

Just got back from Vannes last night, there was space in the marina in town, well organised, well run and nice facilities. We had a berth allocated as we waited for the bridge so there was no messing around once in the river/canal.

Thanks for that, the reason I am interested in Vannes is that we have friends who live nearby. I have visited some years back but I ma not sure if the marina could take a 48' yacht or not. Nevertheless all the feedback from this post has certainly helped boost my confidence...
