The new owners of Triple Ace are looking for a home for her.

They live in Manchester and want to be on the west coast.

Can anyone recomend a marina "with space"

Ideal would be "colwyn Bay" area

Living in the area, you are limited with a 36 footer to a decent marina with security. Heading west from Manchester, the first suitable mooring is conwy marina just west of colwyn bay. About 1hr 30 ish from Manchester.
There is a waiting list unfortunately of about 3-4 months.
Prices are one of the highest in the country @ £235/metre ish.
Conwy council cater for swinging moorings in the river, at about half this price, no waiting list.
Next stop is the menai straits which is about 2hrs from Manchester. Fees are cheaper again, but access at low water is restricted except from the anglesey side. (another 20 minutes away). No waiting list.
Deganwy (opposite conwy) are having a bespoke marina built with condominiums and 200 moorings on a first come first served basis. Also a 5 star hotel with private membership. They are taking bookings now for a late 2003 opening.
Should be very exclusive (the apartments start at 180,000 for a 1 bedroom).
The marina will be managed by the same people as conwy marina (crest nicholson) and it should prove to be very expensive given their track record (£275/m+).
Look up crest nicholson on the web and you/ll see the marinas mentioned:

Countryside is awesome!!!

I'm just in the throws of leaving Conwy Marine (the blue Med. beckons) but I've always found them great even though they are expensive. Lots of facilities including fuel, helpful staff. Good pub serving good food. But the down side is the waiting list and access is limited to approx 3 hours either side of high water. This is due to a lifting sill used to prevent the water leaving the marina and leaving all the boats sitting in the mud. Another good up and coming alternative is Holyhead Marina - prices are a lot lower, facilities are good, good club house, but the town is a bit less appealling. With the new road network it's only an extra half hours drive, but with excellent sea access. Also there is a new marina being built at Beaumaris, which is due for completion soon, again giving 24 hour sea access. Contact ABC Marine of Beaumaris for details. The whole area is a great backdrop. We've had 9 years in the area, and loved every minute. Good luck

May be I've spouted this one to often. But it would make eminent sence for me to move my boat closer to home from Plymouth. It's a love hate thing. Love Plymouth, hate the distance. This was ok whilst Tutts was not working, or only a couple of days a week. But I have not seen my boat for 4 months. Which is very unusual for me and not really acceptable. So persuade me. Now I used to keep my P33 in Pwhelli, but found it very limited on places to go. Either potter round the bay or next stop Ireland, IOM. Then Scotland. Bit much for the P33. Can I be convinced that with my P35 and from say Anglsey, Holy Head, where ever. I can enjoy the boat as much as in Devon and Cornwall. Or at least nearly as much, with the compensation of being nearer to home.

By co-incidence, the CPO of North Wales has just been on the radio, and he is also the person in charge of the Speed Camera project, and because they have reduced deaths by 35% they are being installed everywhere. So the outlook for long distance travel is gloomy, whether he will be cleaning up his own doorstep first or not remains to be seen. So the Holyhead/Beaumoris(?) option looks infinately more accessible, can't speak about whether you would prefer the area, don't see much difference in general, both nice places, locals don't like visitors but love their cash. Quality time for you appears to be the major difference, there are probably more nice places to visit than you mention, even just around Anglesey.

I would recommend Port Dinorwic 100%. It is very good access facilities, and great area to go crusing caernafon bay, IOM, Ireland etc.

Access to Port Dinorwic is virtually all states of tides except low water springs, in the outer dock.
