hellow,
This is one of those anoying new to boating type questions.....
1. What does a :fore and aft swing mooring look like and how do you moor to it??
2. What does a :slip mooring looklike and how do you moor to it
I used to have a mooring on a large reservoir for a ff15 with sea going keel this was one boym which you tied upto.
Many thanks .... in anticipation

Two mooring bouys X feet apart. You approach the first (driving against the tide) and secure your bow, then pay out the bow line until you can secure your stern on the other leaving enough slack to haul forward until your craft is centred between the two. Simple fore and aft procedure. Most people will have ready made up lines which they just need pick up with a boat hook if it is their regular mooring spot.

Strictly speaking, a fore and aft mooring isn't swinging - that would be a single bouy like you have on your reservior, but you "swing" around it with the tide. Should have a small "pick-up" bouy you grab by dangling boat-hook, wife, 12 year old son or whatever over the side. Works for me anyway.
