Have been trying to arrange moorings in SOF. What a shocking system they have.

Talking to the harbour office is a complete waste of time, so nothing seems to be the only response. Write to the port Captain and wait for his reply (if ever).

I have just managed to secure a 25m mooring in St Tropez for 3 nights, only another 10 to worry about.

Was pleasantly surprised at cost of mooring in St Tropez, 150€ per night for 25M boat is pretty good.

One contact recommended using an agent, they also said that the system works on back-handers, office girls often given a case of champagne (not on my watch).

Also heard about the Captain of a port having 3 villas overlooking the harbour, now how does that work I as myself.

I see things haven't changed since our season in SoF in 2004. Emails or letters not replied to. Phone calls answered with a curt 'non'. To be honest, we found the best strategy was just to turn up and slip the first guy you meet who looks to be vaguely in charge €20 or €30. This would invariably magic up a berth in a previously full marina. I guess with a 25m boat and 6 yrs inflation, that's going to be €100 now.
Doubtless, some current SoF boaters will be along in a minute to give you current advice

Deleted User is right but it depends when you are going to the SOF and where you want to visit.
I think you have been very lucky to get a berth confirmed in St Tropez but the others may not be as easy if your in July / August and the usual answer is Berthing on alocation. In other words turn up and see. I find the best way is to call the day before and ask then call gain at about 11am then pester them from 3pm onwards. Its hard work but this task is usualy passed to my very very persuasive hosty. Bunging cash is fine but when your hovering around in the marina it's hard to get the story across that your willing to give a bung.

Also get chatting with the skippers of boats during the early days of your trip they often know of private berths where a deal can be done, also dont forget that in most of the hot spots you can anchor right outside the marinas.
