Moorings in Cardiff Bay

Karen,
I'm sure most clubs would like to help such a laudable cause. I suggest you contact them directly with details. Some of the councils may wish to help too. I think I have seen your yacht moored in Bristol.
Very best of luck,
Allan

Thanks for your reply Allan, it is nice to know that some people still care in the world today:)

We are very fortunate at the moment in that Bristol City Council have allowed us to keep Lief in the Harbourside free of charge as we continue with her refit, but like anything, it will come to an end before long, we did have an agreement with them to vacate by March 31 but still unfinished and with no where to go,they are turning a blind eye to us staying where we are at present (thankfully)

We did ask the MD of Portishead Quay Marina (their head office) if they would be willing to let us have a free or discounted berth, but they have declined citing lack of mooring space, yet I think if I offered to pay the £3,500 annual charge they would find the room for us.

Not wanting my post to sound like a begging letter (they usually are) we still need to acquire a lot of equipment and funds to start to operate, it is proving extremely hard to get grants/donations etc, so if anyone has any ideas, or would be willing to do a fund raiser for us it would be extremely welcomed.

We still need about 6 more lifejackets, 2 x liferafts, all new running rigging, a Si-Tex radar dome (we have a Standard Horizon Chartplotter) and to get her MCA Coded .... its money, money and more money, sometimes I question my own sanity in ever starting the project, but it keeps me busy at least.

If anyone wants to come aboard as a volunteer, as crew or as a skipper, or just to help us fund raise, please do, you can contact me on 0117 9508090 or 07712 110934, or via karenpassmore@hotmail.com ... or apply via our webpage www.breakfreefoundation.org

thanks

Karen
