For the drive nicker, take a leaf out of the shyster clampers' book and put up a tiny notice announcing that any parking without prior permission will be clamped - release fee £100, storage £200 a day.

If he wants his car back, he pays, and if he cuts off the clamp, it's a criminal damage - If Mr Plod won't play, take out a private summons!

KingsFerry Bridge

We regretably often have to turf off any number of sailing craft from our moorings,as they attempt to find somewhere to moor while waiting for the bridge to lift.
The problem is that all of our moorings are self laid and consist of only sufficient concrete to hold the 15-to 20ft lightweight stuff that moors there.
We have offered to lay much heaver waiting mooring nearbye on island side of Swale,but HMP will not allow,cos fear escaping felons will clamber aboard any waiting getaway boat moored to it.
