I have never moored up stern first Med style so I shall refrain from commenting untill I have tried and mastered that.......
The profusion of phones with video instantly available means that pretty much anyone can become a youtube/ twitter/ facebook star.

I think the lesson of the video is, not to try it when a fresh breeze is blowing onto the pontoon. If you have a bow thruster or not.

Since catastrophe is, while hopefully rare, certainly inevitable, my No 1 lesson from that is that the roving fender which is the protection of last resort should be as big as one can reasonably store to hand and, most important, have a line on both ends. As is clearly demonstrated in the vodeo*, a vertical fender is little use against a bow; a horizontal one may well prevent tears.

*A typo, but the image of a video rodeo seems apposite in this case, so I've invented a new word

Very good. Reminds me of a time we were flagged down by two old Biddies in the middle of nowhere in the west of Ireland in the early 70s. One of them asked my dad « Sorr, would you mind turning our car for us. My sister and I drive, but we do not back ».

We had a friend like that, every time she visited I had to turn the car around in the drive for her so she could go out forwards. As far as boat cock-ups, I've had a few moments but nothing damaging and have the opinion there are those who have had and those who will have. Learn from other's mistakes.
