Hi looking for advice on making my own fixed lines , we have a 42 ft fly bridge , so what type of rope do I need and what size . Thanks for help.

Possibly dockline as it doesn't seem to go hard like nylon. Size, personally I would go large diameter as possible but they may not snub / stretch well. Another for Jimmy Green website for info and advise.
On my mooring I use 22mm nylon (its gone hard) with loops so that they just drop onto my cleats. My boat seems very happy with this even in windy weather.

We use 16mm braided line for mooring lines on our 38ft 12ton mobo. Easy to handle, lock up well on the boats bollards, minimal 'Creak' and just fit through a large snubber.
