Mooring problems?

You think that a long keeler is hard to reverse; try reversing my Macwester Wight; it is sheer hell and no fun trying to go into a marina.
My old Fantasie 19 was a bugger to moor stern first, (I used to do this on regular basis on bows to pontoon, custom bow sprit could not meant boarding over bow difficult).
One day some bloke told me I was doing it wrong, to much man handling makeing it hard where I could use the engine. This was all very good until I pointed out that that Yamaha outboards do not have reverse!

I try and look at boats berthing and think why they are not doing it, the way I would. Rather than thinking they are making pigs ear of it, some times they are even right :D.

so why do they still build long keel boats and why should someone buy one?

As many an old Scottish seaman said to me................''Aye laddie she's a fine sea boat, a fine fine sea boat''
How do you write 'boat' in Jockanese ? :D I always liked the 'laddie' bit, being in my 50's :D
