Mooring pennant swivel

I've noticed that my mooring pennant (chain) keeps getting kinked and the chain links bunched up. I haven't noticed it last season.

I've checked the swivel from the riser to the main buoy and that appears to be good.

Should i put a swivel on the pennant?

Or does anyone have other ideas?

Swivel in pennant worked for me.
My mooring was always hauled up tight under the bow, so the swivel worked well.

The tide there always wound the boat the same way.
BTW I found motorbike aerosol chain grease/wax very good for swivels, although it was of course out of the water.
