Thanks for all the advice and help concerning our proposed new season first leg from Preston to Menai.
Helpful souls at the Marina point out that the Marina has a mooring off Lytham which would mean we could make our start effectivly nearly 2 hours early. This means that a passage through the Swellies and to Caernafon is realistic. It is our shake down trip so that is all touch wood but Moelfre, Conwy or even Liverpool are there in emergency.
Looking at the chart there appears to be a pool at the site of the mooring which I believe is near the marked red flashing buoy. I'm told there is enough water there for my 1.4m draft.
