Ps: you can buy a boat and hope they let you keep the mooring. Not unusual in NI.

PPS: clubs want people who will sail and, hopefully, race. Cockle Island is good for that. Old boys race on. Monday afternoon as 'the crinklies'.

Thanks for the advise everyone, I've contacted as many places I can could that list contact details and it seems most have zero availability or require multiple members to second you joining the club. I'm going take a drive out to a few places today to ask in person today, I didn't expect this part of boat ownership to be the hardest to sort!

If you've not bought a boat yet, volunteer to crew at various clubs in locations you're intereted in.

Good to get some experience, and get your face known. In Ireland especially social connection is so important.

Once people have met you, you may well find opportunities opening up
