My Boat is kept on a swinging mooring during the summer and I use two mooring lines for security. One of the lines for a good reason (To do with mooring my tender) is longer than it needs to be. For this reason it is in the water all the time and of course builds up lots of green slime and growth.

If there anything that can be done to treat the line or other method to stop it building up the growth

Can you 'sleeve' the green part in close fitting fire hose ? It's smoother than rope and veg growth doesn't get a grip.

Not a full sleeving, but the principle is there.
