Mooring Line Eye Hose

How many of your students do you think practice regularly enough to keep the skill up? I agree freeboard is a problem on modern yachts, but stepping off and tying on doesn't need much practice on an ongoing basis, just the ability to safely step on to a pontoon.
there's plenty of people make a hash of that too - and done badly it might be more likely to end up in injury? that is our default "MO" but I've seen people end up in the water, people make daring leaps of faith and others be so hesitant to get off that the skipper had time to do it themselves. Higher freeboards are an issue but the height of the pontoon, and how wobbly it is does mean that in a new location the crew are actually taking a risk.
