I keep my boat at South Ferriby on the Humber where we pay our dues to the E.A.
The mooring charges this year have increased by 41% to £40/metre to bring us in line with other users. There are no facilities at all in this, merely the right to construct a landing stage to their specs. for 12 months.
What do you pay for your waterways mooring?

Ted.

Nearly £900 a year for a chain in the middle of the river ( charged for 25ft , no idea why ) Id build your landing stage and keep quiet if i where you .

Hmmm ....11 metres at £40/metre = £440 right? I pay about 8 times that - admittedly for a marina berth with facilities. Whatever floats your boat but I guess there's a few around here that would think you got it good :D

Have a look at "Google maps"and then say that :)

We looked at Glanford but what with weather, tides and time thought we would never get to use the boat

I pay £250pa for a mooring in the middle of Lincoln, not for much longer as the coincil(sic) have decided we need(?)posh new moorings leading to fees of £750 pa

Makes my offering a berth of up to 45' with both water & electric for only £3,000 p.a. quite reasonable. Maybe I should ask for more ;)

Thats going to be some rise in fees!!

We currently pay £133/metre which works out at £997 pa (25ft boat) for fully serviced marina moorings in Burton Waters.

Thanks for replies all. I was hoping that there would be comment from someone in a similar situation. I should also add that the berth is tidal with just two hours access either side of high water. The EA did warn us last year that they would conduct a study of all their moorings but this is an increase of 41% with no justification at all and much more than expected.

Ted

LYO."Lay your own".... moorings Sheppey Boat Club. Tidal Swale in Kent.£150.00 PA when I was club member a few years ago .

Moorings in assorted muddy "Med"creeks about £70 PA again LYO.

I can pay up to 1500- 2,200 Euros pa for a marina berth on the river Shannon, in Ireland, with electricity and water OR I can move my boat every 5 to 7 days on the canals, for which I can pay a combined mooring permit of 126 Euros pa to Waterways Ireland. This fee allows me use of "Free" water at designated areas along the navigation and also "free" waste disposal recepticals to put my trash in.It also covers locks passage on 3 canals. On the river Shannon the tolls for locks and movable bridge passage is 1-50Euro each way,and 0-22cent Euro to transit Ardnacrusha lock each way.Waterways Ireland have only recently completed New Shower/Laundry/Toilet facilities at various public harbours which require Unit cards to operate.
