I’m considering a property in Staines that backs onto the Thames path and the river bank beyond. The path and bank is not part of the property and I believe ‘owned’ by Spelthorne council. Many similar property’s along that stretch also have the path dividing them, but have private moorings associated with the property. How do I establish whether I could do similar? The property I’m considering already has several poles in place to moor against but I don’t know how to establish whether it already has appropriate permissions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
