This is the problem. Guglielmo Maccattozzo is the owner of this boat, but unfortunately he died. I have contact with his daughter, but still don't know is it possible to cancel the boat some how from UK

Oh. That is my mistake. I thinking that he was only owner of the boat. Now I see that he was the owner of company. But the problem remains: the company was closed in 2016 and unfortunately he died before changing the owner of the boat

the other (slightly dodgy) option is to get a marine surveyor certify that this is custom new built boat with such and such details, made from some old moulds that came to Italy in the past and it's now complete and ready to be registered as a NEW boat.

I didn't suggest that though if you know what I mean :rolleyes:

I know what you mean.
But this is very complicated solution. :)
 
yes, but it IS a solution, I don't see you have many other options in your hands to be honest :)
unless you can get into SSR somehow...

You just need a boatbuilder willing to give you a receipt for buying a hull or whatnot for self completion... Preferably predated.
then restore it (I assume you're going to work on it, looks like it needs some TLC) and get the surveyor certificate that all is complete and fine.

Some ppl did something similar here in Greece (hence I know this trick) problem is that you end up with the higher taxation of a new built and having to pay VAT etc on top...

+ I need to do all CE certificate's, change the engine's (because they don't pass CE certification)...
I think that it is very expensive solution for this boat
 
Did you ever solve this registration issue? If you need to sell the boat I could be interested in buying if I can register it in the UK.
