Every full moon the real ships cat spends about 30 minutes that night in the early hours of the morning running up and down the stairs and yowling, or if on the boat running backwards and forwards in the boat and up the companionway steps yowling.

Now, full moon was on the 28 October but ships cat did not do his full moon thing that night. He did it on the night of the 29 th (NZ time) - wifey even had to get up to calm him down.

So, it seems as if the moon has wobbled and its orbit changed - anyone else noticed this?

Also, does this account for the high waters being experienced in some parts of England?

Ooh, tempted, tempted - what sort of rates could I command then?! Although I'm not sure cat psychology is on the list of topics studied. Perhaps I should start practising with Daisy, the demon cat?

Do you suppose that it was the total ecllipse of the moon up here on top of the world about that time which caused your pussy wobble? /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Perhaps your cat's body clock was running a day late, or perhaps it was cloudy that night so it couldn't see the moon.

Interestingly, admissions to mental hospitals go up at the time of the full moon.

Also, 'lunacy' is derived from the Latin word (Luna) for the Moon. It was believed that staring at the full moon sent you mad (or is that mad people stare at the moon?).

So your cat is a true lunatic.

They are strange little critters with their various behaviours, and worthy of much study methinks.

Thought of that Jane but was 28th here too so was in the 12 or so hours we are in the same day.

Too cloudy for me to do any observational checks on the wobble too /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

Hey Brian - how about checking the moon out over there, as you know it is always too cloudy here /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

Must be something in the song bit because Cat Stevens did a Moon Wobble song too -

Yes
I am being followed by a moon wobble
Moon wobble
Moon wobble
I am being followed by a moon wobble... etc

And to restore the boaty bit I am sure a moon wobble was the inspiration for "High Tides of Dover"

There’ll be high tides over
The white cliffs of Dover
Tomorrow, just you wait and see... etc

Wot's that picture on your memsahib's posts? It looks like a female bum sticking out from behind a carpark ticket machine! If so, it's very innovative! I'm too polite to ask her. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif
