Hi,
can anyone please advise me how the chain plate loads on the moody 37 / 376 yachts are taken below the deck? Its all hidden behind woodwork. Does it have metal tie bars that take the load down to the hull or does it rely on plates bolted to wooden bulkheads to take the load?

thanks in advance

Timber bulkheads sheathed in grp. As there have been a small number of failures, mainly due to lack of resealing the through deck plates, it's best to drill small holes in the sides of the cabinets and insert boroscope, if any sign of localised deck lifting. Personally, I haven't bothered.

As Concerto says, go to MOA forum under the section "Info Exchange" then post on "Pre-purchase questions". Someone may be able to post a photo for you.
